Ashdod's fortress

This branding project is based on the historical fortress of the city Ashdod. The project is a criticism towards the municipality of the town and the citizens themselves, for neglecting an unique and historical location enabling it to become full of garbage.

Therefore, the patterns I created for each design are made of actual photos of garbage I took at the location: snack wrappings, tampons, broken bottles and people building a tent, leaving all the garbage behind. The inspiration for the patterns are traditional arabesques as the fortress was buit at the ancient arabic period. The products designed are what the gift shop of Ashdod's fortress would sell to tourists, if there was one.

The project was presented in an article of Ashdod's official magazine and at the magazine's official website.
