Vittorio de Sica

"Vicissitudes" is a branding project for Vittorio de Sica film festival. The branding includes film DVDs, festival programme booklet and a poster.

The concept of the design is based around the idea of De Sica's films: The conflict between the rich and the poor, and how easily one can lose everything, and turn from being rich to being poor because of uncontrollable circumstances.

The graphic language is based on paper foldings, while each folding represents one of the two different sides of the conflicts in De Sica's films- the rich and the poor. The DVDs contain the films: "The bicycle thief", "Miracle in Milan" and "Umberto D".

The project was chosen to participate at the "In the Middle" (2015) design exhibition of the H.I.T design academy, in the best festival branding designs category.
